Life Has Its Up's and Down's

I am so sorry I have been MIA. Life has been an expensive mess, toped off with Sunday. I am hoping that once I have finished paying for what happened on Sunday things will start to settle back in an uneventful life. I had actually written a post on Saturday but forgot to post it before I left to go to a Christmas party.

Yesterday was a write off for me as I was in an car accident.  I am fine but the car not so much. I blow a tire and lost control of the car drove it over the median and than over curb onto a golf course between hole 8 and 9. I busted 3 tires and 2 rims. I destroyed one of the caps on the radiator and now have to get a new radiator. I need an alignment and what ever else needs to be straitened out. All and all $900 starting. Now the thing is really the car isn't worth the money but I don't have $5,000 to go out and get another one and I do have $1,000 to fix this one. So that's what I am going to do.

My BF hadn't had a chance to pay for our annual CAA membership and he didn't have the money. So I paid for it on my visa $189. Between that and hockey last week my visa is maxed out... well at least to high for me to be conferrable!

They say things happen in 3's; with all the craziness that was yesterday I paid my LoC twice and have left myself short for my insurance payment.  While I have money and can make up the shortfall with out dipping into my  EF I am totally frustrated with myself. In the long run it will all workout but in the short term I am completely tapped out.

  1. Oh Dear Sarah!
Couldn't you put the accident through on insurance? Luckily you are ok!
The irony or not is the advertisement for Fountain Tire at the bottom of the post!

  4. Ouch! Sounds like a very rough time you've had these past few days. So many people having car accidents in the PF sphere, it is kind of scary. I am glad you're doing better. Hang in there, it should get easier for the remaining of the year. Don't be harder on you than the situation is. It is all said and done (save for the car repairs), so go with it and keep your chin up. You can get through this.

  5. Wowzers! I suppose it's cheaper to fix than put in an insurance claim? Thankfully you have the money to fix it.

Hopefully things are looking up from here!

  6. That sucks Sarah. I really hope things get better for you soon. And hey, silver lining? More onto your LOC means less interest and paying it back that little bit sooner right? Everything will work out in the end :-)

  7. Oh no Sarah!!! I am so glad YOU are OK, I noticed you've been missing for awhile. Cars are just one giant money pit - I hate them so much but they are so necessary. The only good thing is your accident could have been so much worse!! That's not much of a silver lining but it's all I've got right now. Take care and look to the future - it will get better!

  8. First off, glad and happy to read you are OK and unharmed. It's scary to think you have been in accident.

Nothing is more important that you being alive and well. It's sad what has happened to the car but instead of having to resort to your EF to fix it, you have your car fund set aside which is really awesome.

Lastly I know how it feels to be tapped out. I've only began to start catching myself from this week. Hang in there. You will make it and things will soon settle again.
